“San Francisco State prepared me very well for my life in business. It’s a gem.”
Don Nasser always knew he was headed for a life in business. Starting work at the age of 13 as an usher in one of his family’s theatres, Nasser understood early on the challenges of making a business successful.
After earning a business degree, Don worked in banking for two decades before joining Bay Properties, Inc., a real estate investment company. And as managing director of the Castro Theatre, which his family and relatives have owned for more than 90 years, he has used his creative business acumen to ensure the theatre’s continued success, breathing new life into one of San Francisco’s most loved landmarks.
As a student and fraternity member, Don developed a deep bond with SF State that has lasted until today. The friendships formed, the events and experiences shared, and the many good times have created an emotional tie to the campus. He wants today’s students to have the same kind of quality education and experience that he enjoyed.
Don remains active in the life of SF State, volunteering his time and talents and generously supporting athletics. He wants to do his part to ensure that SF State continues to provide students from all backgrounds a first-class education.
