Community leader and businesswoman
San Francisco State alumna
SF State Foundation Board member.
“The more I discovered and learned about today’s San Francisco State University, the more involved I became. The caliber of its people and programs is truly impressive.”
Dana Corvin, a third-generation San Franciscan, believes that high quality, affordable public higher education built the state of California. She earned her M.A. in education from San Francisco State.
A former special education teacher who later became a successful businesswoman, Dana has been impressed by the enormous economic impact that SF State has on the Bay Area region and state of California. It's mission of social justice, however, has had an impact that is priceless.
Dana is among the strongest supporters of the Guardian Scholars Program, which provides care and assistance to former foster youth at SF State. The comprehensive program offers counseling, tutoring and housing to these students, many of whom are the first in their families to attend college.
Through her ongoing generosity, Dana is helping to ensure that former foster youth complete the education they need to become the teachers and business leaders of tomorrow.
